Neurotrigger blinking aid
One of the main effects of facial paralysis is the inability to blink. This can lead to painful corneal ulceration and even loss of vision.
NeuroTrigger has developed an eyelid pacemaker that restores blinking.
The device is portable, very light, compact and easy to use. We had the privilege of participating in this challenging project, working with an extremely creative and ingenious team.
As always, we were juggling with various issues and elements, doing our best to respect all functional, engineering and production constraints, while striving at an elegant solution.
Any physical addition to the human face is a significant challenge, ergonomically and aesthetically, especially when worn the whole day long, and cannot be removed. The source of the problem is medical, but the device shouldn't emanate a medical feel.
